Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Channel 19 ("we," "us," or "our") operates a live, always-on CB radio network for virtual drivers, including our website, desktop clients, game mods, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
When you use Channel 19, you may provide:
Account information
- Email address
- Username / display name
- Password (stored securely and hashed)
Subscription & billing information
- Subscription status and plan
- Payment metadata (payments are processed by third-party providers; we do not store full credit card numbers)
Support communications
- Messages you send to us via email, Discord, or support forms
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:
Device & technical data
- IP address
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Crash logs and diagnostic data
Usage data
- Channel usage (e.g., which CB channels you connect to)
- Connection timestamps
- Session duration
- Feature usage metrics
1.3 Voice Data
Channel 19 is a live voice communication service.
- Voice audio is transmitted in real time
- We do not record CB conversations by default
- Voice data exists temporarily in memory for the purpose of real-time transmission only
- Optional recording features may be introduced in the future for moderation or private server owners. If enabled, this policy will be updated and users will be notified.
1.4 Location Information
Channel 19 handles two different kinds of location, and treats them differently.
In-game position (American Truck Simulator / Euro Truck Simulator 2)
When you use Channel 19 with a supported game, the game reports your in-game truck's position and heading. This is a position inside the game world — not your physical location. We use it to:
- Place your truck on the dashboard map, where other signed-in users can see it
- Decide who can hear you on proximity-based CB channels
Your device's real-world location (optional, off by default)
The web and mobile clients can use your device's location so that drivers near you hear you more loudly, the way a real CB radio behaves. This is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. When you enable it:
- Your location is rounded to roughly one square mile before it leaves your device. We do not receive, and cannot derive, your precise position.
- It is used only to calculate how loudly nearby users hear you.
- It is never shown on the dashboard map and is never displayed to other users as a location. Other users receive only a volume level.
- Because volume varies with distance, another user may be able to infer that you are somewhere within radio range (about six miles) of them. If that is not acceptable to you, leave this setting off.
- We do not store a location history. Your most recent approximate position is held temporarily while you are connected and is discarded shortly after you disconnect.
- We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties.
Granting your browser's location permission does not by itself enable this — the in-app setting must also be on. You can revoke the permission at any time in your browser or device settings, and you can switch the setting off in the app without changing any browser permission.
